Hello all! Entirely new to the forum and haven't had much of a chance to familiarize myself, but I'm looking for help in identifying this particular little critter I found on the wall in my infant sons room. I live in Ottawa, Ontario and you never think that you would find a scorpion in the area, but I have seen un-mistakable, translucent (see through-ish) scorpions in Canada before, in my home town of Lethbridge, Alberta. Could this be what I think it is!? It was only about 2-3mm long: Attachments:

Yes, that's definitely a scorpion, but I have no idea what species you have in Canada and whether they are dangerous or not. Obviously it's the last thing you want to find in your son's room.
My own son is 6 years old, and here in Thailand scorpions are quite common. Sometimes I have found them coming into the house, so I have taught my son about leaving them alone, along with snakes and wasps. We also have huge spiders that live in houses and run really fast, but they keep away from people. Occasionally young tarantulas get into the house too.

Given the size, and the location - I'd have to agree.

This is great. Thanks for the answers. I am intrigued and the Pseudoscorpion identification makes the most sense to me. Much appreciated, and I'll consider leaving it be if I see another. I guess as long as the wife doesn't see one and freak, haha.

It looks like sematura may be right. I was wondering what such a small sized scorpion was doing running around by itself. I thought from the photo that you had crushed the abdomen and tail, but maybe there never was a tail with sting at all. I can't remember seeing anything like that here, although I guess they must be present in Thailand.
