Hello all. Do you have any best practices, or tips, for displaying and mounting leps in Riker mounts? I'd like to give my grandfather (also my collecting partner) a nice, well displayed specimen from last season as a gift. Is it really just as simple placing the spread lep between the cotton and glass, then clipping it back together? I'll probably just use the standard BioQuip models: www.bioquip.com/search/DispProduct.asp?pid=1043Av. Also, what size Riker mount do you recommend for a normal-size Danaus plexippus? I'm thinking the 5" by 6" or the 6 1/2" by 8 1/2" models. Thanks!

Hi dakingindanorf,
Sorry you haven't gotten any replies, there aren't many strict practices when mounting Leps in Riker mounts, Its as simple as spreading your lep flat, and putting it onto the plastic filling and then putting the lid on top before closing it. Just make sure your lep specimen is flat so u don't get any broken parts(especially antena). A 5"x6" frame or 6.5"x8.5" frame should work fine for a Danaus plexippus.
Kind regards, Ed.
