I visited a fellow collector today and discovered he had a drawer of Delias. Neither one of us knows very much about them so we are both curious as to weather or not there is something special here. All were acquired as singles in various assorted mixed butterfly purchases he has made over the years.

Nothing rare or special, but a nice selection of species. Many non-Delias are also mixed in; I see Prioneris, Appias, Cepora, Belenois, and even two Mynes (Nymphalidae)! I haven't time at present to type out IDs and figure out the various subspecies, unfortunately. Edit: On second glance, I see a scarce one after all.....D. ellipsis from New Caledonia (last specimen in third horizontal row). That's a good species to have.

Thank you deliasfanatic on that astute observation of that one specimen. My friend will be happy to hear that he has at least one descent species. If you could tell me which ones are the true Delias specimens I will pass along the clarifications so he can redistribute all the non-delias items. Shows you how much my friend and I know about these things --- we thought the whole drawer were delias !
