I wonder what an entomologist would do if he wins the lottery ? I always heard those winners who buy expensive cars, villas and so on... I would personnally do something very different.
I would : - buy a forest in France - buy a nice house with a big garden in Fontainebleau - make 2 big collecting trips per year - buy Deyrolle shop - collect Agrias - buy all those Delias from the Solomons and Bismarcks - send collectors in remote islands/mountains to collect for me
And if I am very very rich, I would buy Danny's Delias collection and Michel's book collection !
What about you ?
PS : not sure my wife would agree on those spendings though...

Assuming that means I don't have to work anymore, I'd quit, then go home and do what I don't have time to do- sell all the excess crap I've accumulated over the years.
Then I'd buy a tiny place right on the beach in the Florida Keys and go sit there. When that got boring I'd swing through Italy (since I've never been to Italy) and eat and drink wine for a couple weeks, then go hang out on Rendova Island.

I too would buy a forest in France, the Luberon though for me and as for the wife agreeing with your spending Olivier, if you can afford Danny's delias and Michel's books you can take your pick of any woman on earth. lol Rich Hoping your wife doesn't read ICF..

If I were to win A LOT of money: I would buy a castle in the France with its huge land property, make sure it is renovated and maintained. If not already in the grounds I would build 3 Victoria green houses for different climates. I would also buy Porquerolles island (since everything can be purchased). On a first trip, I would hire several guys to collect Aristolochia food source from Solomons islands and get these back in France to have constant supply. On a second trip, I would bring back ornitho Victoria's. I would... I would. F*** my brain hurts.
Olivier did you win Enalotto?

IF i had a lot of money, I would be content to live perhaps in Switzerland in the mountains. New Guinea would be high on my list. I would pay for scientists from Oxford-BMNH, then hopefully get official permission (A nice donation) and mount a scientific expedition to say the Foja Mountains and other remote spots. The scientists can have the lot except for Some Delias. Any new Delias species found, they can have the holotypes but a paratype or two would not come a miss. What I would really like is my own large study-library with wall to wall cabinets.
