I feel like I need to make a pitch for my photo, which I recognize was a gamble submitting... because who's going to vote for crap right? Anyways, I believe this particular skipper is an Andronymus gander. Over the course of 4 days last week the species migrated en masse through Beni, Nord Kivu. For the Congolese this yearly migration is a very welcome sight, as it heralds the coming of the locusts which swarm soon after and are a delicacy in the local cuisine. The picture though was taken last month, and shows a specimen caught in the act of secreting on chicken dung (you can see the ball of fluid forming at the end of the abdomen), and imbibing the result.
