When it s cold in winter in Europe, you can get some butterflies in the south of Morocco. I was this february 2015 in Anti-Atlas, lookinq for early species. This winter received more rain than usually, meaning more green vegetation and more butterflies... Because of holidays with my family, I only had a 2 days trip for collecting, sleeping one night in the little city of Tafraoute. PIERIDAE

Pontia daplidice Attachment DeletedP. daplidice was found on the same hill than E. falloui and also in this rocky slope south of Tafraoute. I was happy to see plenty of that Pieridae this year : P. daplidice, Euchloe charlonia, belemia, falloui the 22 and 23 of february 2015. You can also have nice tourist moments near Tafraoute ...

Great article and those Euchloe are splendid.
I remember having seen many Euchloe in South Tunisia in April ,10 years ago.

Thanks Plebejus! Beautiful photos! Even while I do not collect Pieridae (except Colias), I can have a pleasuure of Euchloe We have some of them here too, in Siberia. Two most common are Creusa and Naina. But here in European Part of Russia - virtually no, I collected on a single occasion a female of E. volgensis in my fave steppe biotope.
