That would be Zethera musides, a Philippine species of Satyrinae, Nymphalidae. Early stages feed on bamboo.

Ah, interesting; I guessed it might be an African Nymphalid, as it looks similar to some mimetic African Papilionidae.

That would be Zethera musides, a Philippine species of Satyrinae, Nymphalidae. Early stages feed on bamboo. Jan You sure its not Z.pimplea? Musides seem to have a much more restricted white band on the forewing, while pimplea has a broader more pronounced white band on the forewing?

Wolf, you're correct. It is pimplea and not musides. Too tired I guess when I stated that.
