Looks like a skipper caterpillar. Probably Pyrrhopyge thericles or Pyrrhopyge papius

Many thanks. According Butterflies of America, Pyrrhopyge papius don't fly in French Guyana.

Sorry, the expression "probably" was wrongly chosen by me. The mention of P. tericles and P. papius was only meant to be an example. There should be quite a number of similar caterpillars in the Tribus Pyrrhopygini. Did you breed the caterpillar?

Interesting, it was a huge caterpillar and I would never have thought it could be an Hesperiidae.
