Was visiting a collector friend recently and spied some nice looking Charaxes in his collection. None of these pictured had any names and we were both wondering what he may have here. He bought these back in the early 1980's on a package deal of 30 mixed Charaxes at $3.00 a piece. Would any of our current Africa specialists out there care to take a stab at species I.D.'s on these...? I'll call these undet. species #1 thru 5 (top to bottom) Thank You to everyone who can contribute ! P.S. When I took these pictures I mistakenly forgot to get pic's of the data labels. They had them but, conversation was bouncing all over the place and I went home without further investigation.

My instinct is that 3 & 4 aren't African. I might be wrong as there are a lot of Charaxes species... but at the same time I don't recognize them.

Wow, what a great bunch of guys ! !
A big THANK YOU to all of those knowledgeable "men of the net" who really know their stuff in someone's time of need.
I honestly never knew that Charaxes stretched beyond the limits of Africa and Madagascar. Of coarse, I have known that Europe has C.jasius however, I thought it was the Polyura which replaced Charaxes in S.E.Asia.
