Hello everyone, I am searching for a research organism in the order Lepidoptera. The criteria for the organisms is as follows: wingspan 1.0-2.0 cm, have a diapause phase, available to purchase, edible for birds and relatively easy to reproduce. Does anybody have any suggestions? Thank you, KDK

The greater wax moth, Galleria mellonella, commonly used as a model research organism and in the live pet food trade comes to mind.
