I found a larvae in oktober, and took it inside. I tougt this was a Ruby, but since it made a cocoon i tought this was something else, since they go throgh winter as a larvae og course.
It went into pupa oktober 25, and yesterday, november 10, it was a Ruby, full grown butterfly.
What happened here? This i think its impossible?!
Location Norway.

When you took the larvae inside did you place it in the fridge veggie compartment ? No, i usually wait until desember before i put them there. But still, 2 weeks instead of 5 months 🤔 and also, why not to throgh winter as a larvae. I have never seen this before 🤔

I suppose outside and inside temperature change must to confused the larvae system enough to premature pupating and emerging thought it was a spring already.
