Still nothing here in Brittany (NW France), I've spent one day hiking in the forest and did not see any Vanessa cardui.
There were hundreds of Maniola jurtina, some Limenitis camilla and Aphantopus hyperanthus + banalities.

Hello, Göttingen (Germany )some I saw driving in a car ( I mean I drive the car, not the butterfly) not a mass but more than usual. (usual was zero in the last years)
temp. over 30 degrees, now some "cold" days with 25 C, on the weekend again over 30. They love it, me too.

I was driving to south parts of Canadian Rockies near US border and hundreds of V.cardui were present everywhere. I must to kill at least 50 of them driving over 500km for a day trip from Calgary. Many of them I saw in the mountains too, although there were no other species or very little if any. Terrible year in Canada for butterflies. The treat was the large mountain meadow at around 1500m above see level full of freshly emerged males of P.smintheus flying around in search for females.

I was at the cost of Lübck, Germany, and many cardui were flying to the east when I was sitting in the sun. Almost one every minute. They didn´t rest so I could not make any photos.
