Tony Nagypal had a really great birdwings reference site titled as above, at www.nagypal.net/I can't seem to get onto this location anymore. Does anyone have a more up-to-date url for his site? Or advice how to deal with the following error message: "Forbidden You don't have permission to access / on this server. Server unable to read htaccess file, denying access to be safe" ?

It seems that his website is offline.
Could be several reasons : - he didn't pay his yearly hosting fees (the most probable) - server issue - he ruined his html code with a wrong manipulation.
Being owner of dozens of websites, I can tell you it is not always easy to avoid these issues.
If anyone has Tony's email, you should ask him what happened and if his website will come back.

Websites are great source of information, however in most cases they are temporary sources until the owner looses his interest, lack of funding or journey to another universe.

True. But some great websites are also sold to new owners when its creator has new priorities. InsectNet being a good example.

In 2005 I saved the pages of his website to my PC, and I checked the contact details just now. I sent an e-mail to his address on the website, but got an unknown user delivery failure, so I am afraid that I don't know how to contact him.
According to the "Author Tony Nagypal" page he was 58 years old when it was written (maybe earlier than 2005) so presumably he is now at least 80 years old. Sadly I suspect that the website will not reappear.

Sorry everyone I remembered incorrectly, the page says he was BORN in 1958, not he was 58 years old, so he's actually only I year older than me, which makes him 61.

Its a shame because it was a great resource, which goes to show, while web sites come and go, books will be there until the end of time.

Tony is alive and well. I've met him at ento meetings several times, last time this february. I will ask him about the website, but i remember couple of years ago i talked with him and asked about the website, and he told me he is not maintaining it anymore, and that it is codewise outdated.
EDIT: Tony told me the site was closed down by his server provider some months ago because they found a virus on his site. He further told me that he want to learn some of the new publishing tools, like wordpress or similar to relaunch the site in a new format, but has never gotten around to actually do it as he has no time in a rather busy daily life. Most likely the site wont be up for a good while, or maybe never again.

That's why nomenclature cannot be published in websites. They are not a PERMANENT scientific record.

His website has been infected with a malicious virus for at least three years, probably more. My software blocked many of the pages, so the site was useless to me. It was wonderful and informative for a long time.

As I mentioned, I have a set of saved webpages (.mht files) of the whole of his website from late 2005. I tried to save a page to pdf, but much of the contents of the page didn't appear in the pdf, so that was not much use. Maybe wolf could suggest to him, next time he meets Tony, that he creates a pdf of all his pages. I am sure people would like to have a copy. Adam.
