Hi guys I'm new to this. My name is Lauren and I live in the UK. I started keeping blue death feigning beetles from Oct 2018 and originally only managed to get my hands on two which one died after a month which urged me to purchase more when they were next available in the UK (not around often or for very long) which was January 2019. In total I have 5 (4 females and 1 male) They are kept in a plastic well vented box with just sand for substrate. From what I had read about them before is that they won't breed in captivity especially on just sand.
Well.. A few weeks ago I noticed my randy boy mating with all the females and started seeing them laying. I have since collected eggs that I can find but I also found a larvae in the sand with the beetles which I was really surprised about. Temps have been approx 22 and humidity levels at about 50%. I have placed them into pots with a mix of soil/coco fibre and sand. I plan to get an incubator to try and get them to pupate eventually but tbh this is the first time I've done this so I don't think they will survive full term but im willing to give it a go.
Any advice please message. Would love to hear what other people have to say
