Hello there! I've only just started to indulge in this passion, as I've always been fascinated with insects, but only pinned my first butterfly today, a Urania Leilus. You guys make it look so easy I am from Michigan, so it will be difficult to collect until the spring season, lol Just hoping to converse a bit and share. Ciao!

lithiumdream, Welcome to the forum. I hope you will learn a lot and enjoy the posts as well as contributing. Firstly please don't feel as though I am being critical but Urania leilus is a day flying moth rather than a butterfly. Also when you write a scientific name the first (genus) name is written with a capital first letter, but the second (species) name always starts with a small letter. That makes it easy for readers to know the status of a name if you only refer to one of the pair. I also wrote the name in italics, which is preferable but not necessary. Genus and species names may be italicised, but not family names (in this case your moth belongs to family Uraniidae), so people can easily see that we are using a scientific name. Adam.
