They were in a box of old African papered material, I found 9 gave 4 to my friend and kept these, I have an old pair besides these but 3 of them are huge, they will take pride of place that's for sure.

I've often wondered why it's never for sale, as far as I'm aware it's not protected and the few specimens I've seen command very high prices.

I think it's simply a matter of there not being commercial collectors in its range. I have only one that came from an old collection; IIRC, it was collected by van Son in 1959.

Most people I know who have this species, myself included until this find, have only old specimens, as you say it seems to be rarely collected.
