Did any of those extreme rarities sell?

I assume that you purchased those, not sold them.
The victoria abdomen is dark, as are many of mine. I never thought about it- I wonder, is this wear, or grease, or damage from grease, and can it be restored? I've not tried to do anything about it.

It comes out perfectly with acetone. Snap the abdomen off (bend the base back/forth and up/down a few times); soak in acetone for a day. Then reglue.

Did any of those extreme rarities sell? Werner told me that the box was well and truly sealed... although I'm sure he'd have unsealed it in the unlikely event that anyone could have afforded any of them!

Cheers Bob, the price must have been prohibitive, very much in the realms of Euromillions territory.

Is there anything particularly special about that O. victoriae? Maybe I haven't looked closely enough...
Were these Werner Zoeller's specimens? He always has some very rare things. Unbelievable Agrias, for instance.
Cheers, jh

Only one specimen was from Christoph (not Werner) Zöller, the victoriae. It is a very gold-coloured specimen, unfortunately not visible at the photo.
I am particularly happy about the pair of Gonepteryx chitralensis which I had never seen offered before.
