Yes, the post was meant to be a about an enjoyable day spent studying entomology at the Entomology library of the Oxford University Museum of Natural History. The rooms are full of treasures, with the some of the oldest entomological books in the world and with original paintings and drawings showing some of the great naturalists of our time. I spent the morning studying the letters of James Charles Dale who corresponded with many of our most famous entomologists and his letters are a treasure trove of information, much of which is not in the tomes. Then it was off to study the incomparable historic British Dale collection in Department of Entomology, which is hallowed ground because many famous entomologists worked and studied there. Now that is what I call a day well spent.
