Sepsis fulgens is strange small 2.7 to 3.4 mm fly that amazingly mimics ants. About the size of small Lasius niger ant, it mimics the ant behaviour of that species, running around leaves. This species belongs to a group known as Ensign flies of the family Sepsidae. The female lays her eggs in cattle or horse dung and the larvae will feed upon it.
