Conops ceriaeformis is a rare species of the family Conopidae order Diptera. This species is diomorphic, the female has a distinct yellow puffer jacket body and can be distinguished from the much more frequent Conops quadrifasciatus by the entirely yellow legs, usually with black marking on the femur. The males look completely different to the females and I have yet to see them in the fen, I have only seen a few females there. It seems I correctly identified this species but not correct with the sexing, they are all males. Ain't entomology great, so much to learn in such a short time.
