Cicindela are among my favorite Coleoptera as they are beautiful, easy to spot and efficient predators.
While looking for insects in Phiphi forest, I have seen tons of butterflies but nearly no Coleoptera.
Cicindela aurulenta was spotted in good numbers in a small spot of nearly 200m2 at the top of the viewpoint 3 in Phiphi island, all of them in sandy paths (typical biotope for Cicindela species).
Not easy to come so close to them as they are rather cautious but it was a fun photoshoot.
