Nice specimens, but I am afraid that some "Pachyrhynchus" does not belong to the genus. For example, second row, 5th-8th specimens from the left are Metapocyrtus; and so third row, 9th-10th from the left. First row, 5th-6th from the left are not Pachyrhynchines, while last one of the same row is a Metapocyrtus.

Nice! Do you have any close-ups? We don't seem to get many good photos of beetles posted here.

Paul Nah they're dead, why would you want them looking "natural" i think they look just fine. It should be personal preferance anyhow.

"Just fine " it means there is a room to improve, btw didn't Circulio ask for the comments? All critics should be taken positively and lead to perfection, am I right ?

I dabble in beetles slightly; the one group that I collect more seriously is Eupholus. Here's a photo that I have "ready made"... eupholus drawer by D B, on Flickr

I position them so they're only a small amount above the pinning surface.

I think your off to a great start curculio ! For a new fellow to the hobby (or at least to Coleoptera collecting) you have a good skill set in place. Your work appears neat, the pinning style is consistent with careful thought given to leg arrangement, and your research of the genera these things belong to is pretty darned good. Each specimen has data using the same font size and the labels themselves stay within the parameters of the specimens legs. I especially like your use of the "clear" cover slips (or film) which you use to adhere your specimens to. In doing so one can easily read the data without removal of the specimen. Brilliant thought. Also, your leg arrangement is as mentioned thoughtful as the legs never appear to extend beyond the size of the clear film. Thus, little chance of tarsi loss. Keep up the great work you are doing and I look forward to any future photo's you post !
