Another reason to write nothing or little here is the difficulty to formulate everything in English. For me, as someone with another mother tongue, it is quite difficult to make longer or more complex explanations.
Have a few beers or glasses of wine, then start writing.
I've had fabulous conversations, following a few beverages, with people when we have no common language.
All kidding aside, write in your mother language. We have here those that speak French and German, so Flemmish and Ostlander are then no stretch. I would assume we have Spanish / Port speakers as well. Adam and Paul can translate Thai, and Laurie (where is Laurie?) and I can do Tok Pisin, Solomon Aelan Pijin, and Bislama. I can call in help with Hindi, Tongan, Samoan, Mauri, Marshallese, Pohnpeiian, Palauan, Roviana, Morovo, Lokuru, and Turkish.
I don't know about Tagalog. Anyone cover Tagalog? Swedish? Norwegian? Magyar?

I know the problems with Translations, I only speak South Yorkshire and nobody on the forum understands that.

It's forum policy to post only in English.

Half the stuff Adam posts is Latin, and the rest I don't understand anyway.
Fargin' English. It truly is the worst language I know. Why did my forefathers have to speak English? Why couldn't it have been French, or Spanish?
Hey, can we use both Imperial and Metric? I lived through the Metric Scare in USA, I can do both. For that matter I can do nautical too- knots, nautical miles, leagues, fathoms, mark, twain.

Yes English is a very difficult language I appreciate, though pictures speak a thousand words and everybody loves to see fellow collectors favourite specimen / drawer etc, we all have something in our collection we are happy to own so please show them here and the Latin names are known world wide, apart from when they keep changing them of course. To translate You're not wrong there Richard, how about some more, you know I could go on forever but I won't.
My grandfather was from the Govan in Glasgow, when I was a small boy, being used to the lingo having grown up with it, I had to translate his broad accent into Yorkshire for the locals to understand, so you could say I speak several languages.

I am bilingual in Spanish and English, but sometimes get lost in translation with certain English words to Spanish. Lol

Yes, Tutt was fortunate indeed He also never had habitat loss, conservationists or environmentalists in the numbers we have to put up with today. Rich [br Don't get me started on THOSE subjects! The anti-collecting crown drives me nuts and I have some interesting stories about run ins with some of the more hardcore NABA types. Not saying all members of NABA are anti-collecting, but you have some individuals who take that stance to a whole new level. Habitat destruction for a pointless strip mall or parking lot in prime habitat passes me off. Lol

I'll put money on it that they all use pesticide of some description to rid their house or garden of insects, ant powder is a good example, an ant colony has many times more individuals than any entomologist could possibly kill in their lifetime, but they don't see this as wrong, I've said before, an insect is an insect but only to entomologists.
