There are many species of Meligethes (+ other very close genus)... Are you sur about the species (confirmation with aedeagus is the only Wayne !) ?

I was told by a local Coleopterist they were this abundant species. When I worked on and near construction sites, when I and others wore yellow high visibility vests, we were plagued by these tiny beetles in May and June. They mistook us for giant flowers!!
