I see one Lucanus akbesianus syriacus from Syria for sale in the TOP INSECT AUCTIONS.
They are reaching high prices (above 300 USD), especially big ones. The actually offered one is more than 92 mm !
Do you know if Lucanus akbesianus syriacus has always been rare in collection or if the war in Syria has made the prices skyrocket ? True that if I was a Lucanus collector, I may not wait 30 years for the war in the Middle East to stop... or not. The specimen on ebay has been caught in 1961.
Does it live only in Syria ?
