Any idea about this butterfly from New Caledonia, one of my friend received it.
Looks like a Lycaenidae to me, I love its golden verso ! Thanks for your help

It looks like a Hypochrysops! I'd have to check references, but offhand I don't think I've heard of any from New Caledonia. I'll send you a PM.

It could be one of the Danis-resembling Hypochrysops - I'd send the image to John Tennent; he's doing a revision of Hypochrysops and should know it, if that is indeed the correct genus.
