For those who are fans of this splendid genus, the female of Charaxes marki Lane & Müller, 2006, has been recently described by B. Turlin in Lepidoptères n° 61 (Vol. 24-2015) The tail shape is very different than on males. You can purchase this volume here

Only discovered in 2006 and the female described last year, must be quite a rarity. Turned up in Timor to, I thought that was a well worked Island for butterflies, especially the larger ones. I expect Benny's Pair will be in someone's Charaxes collection sooner than later. This discovery, shows what else might be flying out there in the lesser known places.

It was described from just 2 males, found in a remote and seldom-collected part of Timor. I've seen a number of additional specimens, including females, pop up since then, so it seems that local collectors now know where to find them...
