I am looking to buy a good quality wooden (or plastic, PP) deep store box to use as a quarantine box. If I use chloroform is this safe with PP and if I use it in a wooden box, can it (the chloro) be used with naphthalene? Would one Glass fumigant cell full with chloro do for one box and for what length of time? Is it worth periodically, say each month or two to have a glass cell with the chloro in every drawer for say a period of 24/48hrs. Also, does it affect colour? Thanks in advance

If your objective is to remove all pests from a new specimen or a specific drawer, the best quarantine is 48h in the freezer. More effective than any toxic chemicals and it doesn't affect colors.
I always put my new spread specimens to the freezer before adding them to my collection.

Thanks. Yes I know the feeezing so do you place the box/drawer in a plasitc bag or sheet? And presume just bring back naturally to room temp? So does chloro affect colour? And do you know about volumes and timingd for it? Does multiple freezing and thaw say for dispatch then setting then quarantine affect it? Again apologies for all the questions but I want a balanced multiple approach as I hear and read so many methods and experiencs.
