Sorry. I am an oldie and don't know what iOS is. I use Microsoft and a laptop only. James. Sorry James, iOS is Apple, I use iPad or iPhone and have issues with both I.C.F and insectnet forums with photo's not loading on occasion, but not always, so they do work with this operating system, sometimes. i have a similar issue with the insect deal messages, I tap on the message I want to read and up pops a private message reply box, not the message I want to read. can only think it's a compatability issue with the operating system I'm using, but going back to Microsoft ain't worth the cost. Lol, having just replied to James I have checked the photo's again and on page 14 of this thread I have 5 little blue boxes with a question mark in them, 5 missing photo's.

This kind of issues can come from your local connection speed, your internet browser, your adblock system, the picture hosting website and finally from Proboards... so let's talk about butterflies guys !

We returned to Mbogi the 14th of January. There was a noticeable decrease in the number of butterflies compared to our visit on Dec. 3rd, but, it being in the midst of dry season, I guess that isn't so surprising. Even though fewer butterflies were flying, we still had a fairly successful trip. Here are the results from this latest day trip: -Species Found- 55 -New Species- 8 -New for Mbogi- 17 (Now have found 257 total species at Mbogi)
Hesperiidae Hesperiinae Borbo borbonica borbonica (New for Mbogi) Pyrginae Celaenorrhinus plagiatus (New Species)

Tom, your photo's are worthy of a reference book in the future, excellent focus, just the pin head issue to solve but this doesn't obstruct the wings, which is the main factor in identification. Always look forward to updates on this thread. I hope one day to see female antimachus and/or zalmoxis make an appearance.
Keep up the good work and stay safe.

Thanks Rich! Any suggestion regarding the pin head? I know I sometimes run into issues with Lycaenidae because of poor pin placement (angled and whatnot).

I used to use Picture it app to edit photo's on a laptop, not comparable with iOS, maybe photo shop has the clone button, you can then use a small circle to clone part of the body and use it to cover over the pin head, not perfect but better than an out of focus pin head, also black headed pins rather than gold would blend in better, as for pin angle it's just a matter of making sure the pin is perfectly upright prior to setting the specimen.

Indeed, it has been just over a year now since he last posted on this thread.... Hope all is well with him but, the region he lives and workes in is rather "tenuous" in terms of stability and safety.
