We saw this large Bee mimic of the Bombyliidae family in the Resonica Valley near Corte in Corsica. I have been told this is probably Anthrax anthrax or something very close to it, perhaps a subspecies. This Bee-fly is not Anthrax anthrax as suggested by Nature Plus BMNH ID team but they advised me to check on the forum of www. diptera.info. This is in fact the Bee-fly Heteralonia megerlei.
