How rare is this species. I seem to be seeing a lot more at Juvisy.

It used to be quite rare, but it's readily available from many dealers nowadays.

Yes, most of the specimens on the market nowadays come from a locality in Pamir. That 'new' locality was only discovered relatively recently, and of course very few newly collected specimens come from Afghanistan. I have a single male from there, caught in 1973 and ex coll. A. Schulte, obtained at the AES many years ago.
