PS. Mygos, I know you prefer 'real' books, but sometimes the electronic version will have to do for research purposes.

I have an old photocopy I've been using for years so it will be nice to have a clean, pdf copy - thanks Adam!

Luckily there are European sites which have scans of out of copyright non US scientific works that fill some of the gaps that the US Mickey Mouse law has created. For those who don't know, US copyright doesn't expire after 70 years, it starts in 1923 (the year Mickey Mouse was patented) and doesn't change with time.

Currently it's 95 years (extended from the previous 75), with virtually everything pre-1923 in the public domain. Hopefully this won't change, but of course the movie studios are trying to get their way once again. If it's left as it presently is, works from 1923 will become public domain in 2019, from 1924 in 2020, and so on.

Thanks for the clarification. Good to know that there is actually a time limit involved, even if it is much longer than elsewhere.

A gem: 36 to 34 million years old and counting! Prodryas persephone, Scudder 1889 Caught by Mrs. Charlotte Hill in Florissant Colorado (no data on date/time of capture ;-) Beautifully prepared by Mother Nature in the classical presentation style...

Wow! It is amazing how detailed it has been preserved in the stone. Next butterfly collecting trip I will most likely use the hoe, shovel and brush instead of the net. Paul
