Hi Everyone,
Was just throwing this out there to test the waters...I am going to start making my own insect display cases out of cedar here soon. I have a wood working business on the side. I figured cedar would be good for help with deturing pests and what not. I was just wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing such a thing or if i would just be wasting my time.
Thanks,
Frank generationswoodcreations.com

Frank, It would be useful to know what country you are from as delivery could be a problem. Can I take this opportunity to suggest everyone includes there country and age in their profile as it helps to create an impression of a person. Terry.

So for anyone who is interested. I am in England and born on April 1938 Terry.

It's probably a case of enabling the visibility settings in your profile, at least to display country and age in the profile. I'm not so sure whether enabling visibility also adds these details to each post - I'll leave that to Olivier.
Adam.
PS. I guess many people would rather not have all that information next to each post, even if they allow public visibility to viewers of their profile page.

A+, Michel Michel, The reason I have not added it to my profile is because I do not know how to. I really cant remember filling in my profile but its quite useless 14 April with no date the whole thing needs re writing In some cases I not there is both age and date of birth only one is necessary as its possible to work out one from the other Adam, I agree some individuals may not want that information known. in which case they do not need to divulge it. Terry.

You may be right, as Cedar oil is supposed to have insecticidal properties, so Cedar wood may also repel insect pests. It will be interesting to hear if anyone has used it in frames or storeboxes before.

Anecdotally, my mother has a cedar chest (hope chest) in which she stored her wedding gown and other things. It's supposed to protect the contents from moths and the like.

i have never seen cedar cases. I am not sure if that's because strong smell of cedar wood or maybe that oil is not suitable for keeping dry insects. I guess one can be made for trial .

Some US entomologists use Cedar oil as a pest repellant. There was a thread about this on Insectnet a couple of years ago.
