Hello, My son spotted this strange looking space horse bug on his Kale in the garden. Size is approx. 1/2 inch. Location is the Sacramento California, USA area. Does anyone know what it is and/or anything about it? Link to picture: imgur.com/a/rjgNUER

It's a species of weevil (beetles, Coleoptera). Probably someone here can give a more accurate identification.
Adam.

Weevil. Bing has a lot of insect pest pictures on Kale. Apparently there is a wide variety of pests. This one you show is a weevil. The species would be interesting to figure out.
