Some old specimens of the extinct Pieris (brassicae) wollastoni from the Oxford University Museum. The butterfly was discovered by Thomas Vernon Wollaston (1822 – 4 January 1878) the author of Insecta Maderensia (1854). Originally described as a ssp of brassicae (not sure why some now regard it as a species?) by A.G. Butler in 1886. Thomas Vernon Wollaston

Hello This is a beautifoul specie, but looks a subspecie of Pieris brassicae, i think is other specie because of genetic investigation.
