"...it is probably best to agree to disagree,..." - end of quotation - Is "than" missing or should it be understood as "it is better to allow to prohibit" ?
Generally, what I was trying to say is that to my mind, acco and bubo are closely related but still different species. Of course, I'm in no way a local authority but maybe someday somebody will share my opinion.

No, what I meant was that "it is probably best to agree that we disagree" about the specific status. I hope this makes it clearer.
Adam.

Maybe one day you will be proven right, and that is one reason study of Lepidoptera is so interesting. Adam.

I see...
And as for your question of "whether anyone had treated baileyi, bubo, and pseudobubo as separate species from acco", I never said "pseudobubo" was separate from acco, I just said that to my mind, the name (designation) is poor and unsuccessful ("P. baileyi pseudoprzewalskii"). But don't get me wrong, I'm not an adherent of "philatelic approach"...

Lovely specimen indeed. However, since I lack any real in depth knowledge of Parnassius my question here is weather I am looking at a particularly melanic example of this species OR is it the red spots which make it unique OR the combination of both?
