Indeed it cannot be natural as it is not possible for a specimen to have hindwings of two separate species. This specimen or an almost identical one was offered on eBay maybe 10 years ago, and as Jan guessed one hindwing is arcturus and the other is bianor.

I would never spend $9,000 on it, the specimen is missing all legs!!!!!!!!! Paul, that was a good one! Another point is that the forewings seem to be identical - indicating this is a fake. Bianor and arcturus hardly would have identical forewings.... Many fake things come out of China, so why not a glued butterfly? Jan And if you look carefully, you'll see the slogan "Made in China" underneath

The forewings are normal arcturus, so presumably the bianor hindwing has been artificially attached somehow. I am pretty sure this is the same specimen offered before, and these are the same series of photos that came with the original offering. I remember the absence of legs from that offering too.

Sounds like the "new" Delias that was created from wings of two species (prouti and joicey, IIRC), which was actually described as a new species, "kikuoi", in a Japanese journal about 30 years ago.

Dear friends! Sorry for my English, I do not know it, so if that, please blame Yandex translator. I think it's just a beautiful fake divorce made by masters of photoshop. In the photo there Yes, you can see that the wings are not glued, but if you want and have friends with You we could be (half-Papilio machaon Iphiclides podalirius). Correctly observed dear Mr. Paul K, the price simply foolish a strange! Why not 8000 or 9000 but 8,888??? These Brothers are nothing! My wife and I 2 years ago got our friends ( bianor spring x swallowtail) made was great even if to soften the wings will not fall off! Great glue and master vision!

Why not 8000 or 9000 but 8,888??? I think it's because of Chinese superstition about certain numbers. Adam.

In Toronto none of newly build towers have floor or apartment number containing number four (4). In Chinese it sounds like “death”. The market here switched totally to reach Chinese investores, local population is totally priced out of any property, even one bedroom apartment cost half a million dollars. Go figure... Paul
