if you are a collector you probably drink beer as it is always safe ( no bacteria ) and it is always available. no matter where you are there is always a kid with bottles of beer.
favorites; bohemia in far western brazil.
worst; bellikans in belize

Personally I don't like alcohol at all, so I don't drink beer. I think it has an awful smell but my wife loves it - each to their own.

True that under the tropics, it's much safer to drink beer and coke than water. Even the ice in a fruit juice can ruin a collecting trip ! I like the local Asian beers (Bintang, Singha, Chang, Tsingtao...). Not as good as Czech ones, but with a fragrance of holidays and rare Delias !

But you must keep in mind there is a minor risk of dehydration when drinking beer or coke. I always love to indulge on some fruits while trekking, I also carry a UV sterilization pen used for camping, and I’ve only gotten sick once ... in Thailand l.

Solbrew in Solomon Islands is spectacular. The plant was set up by Germans so what do you expect?
I don’t care for any of the beers in Fiji. Some Tongan and Samoan are OK but not spectacular. Cook Islands Lager is unique and quite drinkable. The Thai beers are interesting but typically one has a choice of farang beers which I prefer. In VN Heineken is $2 a bottle so why drink anything else?
Paderborner, which I can no longer find in USA is sorely missed. And yes the Czechs have done an admirable job producing stunning beers.
Still my favorite is Stella which is now ubiquitous thank the lord. Like antibiotics and flush toilets, Stella everywhere is a miracle.

I don’t drink Stella in Thailand, 330ml cost there $5.00CAD where in Canada $2.45. Leo is my preference there, taste great and 640ml at $2.50. In Laos Lao beer is the best, taste great too and 640ml at $1.50CAD !!!! cheaper than Coca Cola.
