With my research on Delias, I have developed also a knowing on Papuan lepidoptera in general.
Among the most prized genera of this island, the day-flying moth of the genus Milionia is highly researched by collectors for its beauty and its diversity. Some species are common, some are very rare in collection. And among the rarities, Milionia clarissima is very rare in collection. I had the chance to receive a specimen from Timika area recently. I wanted to share this beauty with you.
Look at the iridescent purple forewings, it is even more impressive in real !

Yes because I collect only Delias. I always sell/exchange the other genera otherwise my house won't be big enough for my collection.
And as there is very few info on the web about Milionia clarissima, this beautiful species deserves a topic on the ICF. So I post it here, before losing the specimen, I doubt I will see another one in my life.

Olivier, b.t.w., if your Eucyane (Hypocrita) drucei from ebay has no red bands on the segments of the abdomen (underside), than it is the newly described Eucyane anerythra LAGUERRE, 2017. After the newest review of the genus drucei does not occur in Mexico.

I wanted to post pictures of a pair I had but the forum has reached it's attachment limit Many of these rarely offered species from West Papua are rare because catchers always go to the same spots. As soon as you go to some place less frequently collected you find interesting stuff. A shame it's such a difficult place to collect, there is so much still to be discovered and habitat distruction is a serious problem. Btw, Milionia flaviventris should be Extramilionia flaviventris.

Indeed no red band, the segments are yellow. So it is indeed the newly described E. anerythra. Thank you for the info, Manfred !
