Hello everyone, Found this insect in my kitchen, thought it was a moth at first (flew around the light, like moths often do), but when it landed I thought it looked strange. Never saw anything like that in these parts. So I took some photo's. Its wingspan is about 2.5 centimetres / 1 inch, length of the body about half that. It seems to fold its "hind legs" over its body. When in rest, it looks like a dried up twig. Location: Netherlands (Europe) Sorry for the quality, I used my phone. Marcel Attachments:

Nice one. Its a type of moth Pterophoridae. Their caterpillars are tiny and tend to bore into plants rather than be exposed as do most other moth caterpillars.

Thanks! Never saw one before, so it made me curious. I guess one is never to old to learn.
