Here is my recently acquired female specimen of Bunaea alcinoe from Tanzania. Purchased from a German dealer; it is ex-pupa and a top notch preparation. Cost was quite reasonable. I have always loved the Saturniidae but, in my humble opinion getting top quality examples of any of them can only be achieved through bred stock. They just seem to look more natural than most anything which has been papered and re-hydrated. To most European collectors this species may be well known and no big deal however, here in the U.S. african material is just not as prevalent as is material from Central and South America.
