Polyommatus icarus is a common European butterfly species. The female is normally dull, brown, but there is a blue form which can vary a lot in the intensity of the blue.
Blue forms are more common in South France than Northern France. In Lubéron, I even found some purple forms.
Here is a nice blue female I met 2 days ago in Brittany (NW France) :

Some wonderful blue females can be found, where I live it is almost always confined to the spring brood, the summer brood females almost always are a uniform brown.
