I am asking on behalf of a Chinese friend here in Beijing. There is only one mountain where Parn. nomion and bremeri exist in the greater area of Beijing, but In the two last years it became popular to catch them and now there are even paid catchers catching every single one of them.
My Chinese friend who is pretty good at rearing butterflies, would like to try to safe the population by rearing them in a green house in the city. Do you think it is possible to sustain a population apart from their habitat? How much effort is needed to take care of the rearing? If feasible, does anyone have some good instructions what is exactly needed for nomion and bremeri? Temperatures in summer and winter, ideal humidity level and sun ray exposure etc etc.
I think the population at that mountain is pretty much doomed since Chinese are totally scrupulous in terms of exploiting nature. At least it is good to know that butterfly collecting is growing in popularity in China!
