Freezing specimens to eliminate smell?

We recently pinned a large eastern dobsonfly and an eastern tiger swallowtail. Both of them started to stink after about 2 days. Another member suggested freezing insects to rid of the smell. Does this work? Also, should I freeze them now, or wait until they are dry to freeze them? Will freezing them now delay the drying process?

Any other way to rid of the smell?
