I am interested to get hold of a common Grasshopper from India missing in my Orthoptera Collection. For this reason I am in contact with a private person trying to provide it to me. My question is:
Is it possible / legal for this indian resident/national to ship the dead, dried grasshopper to me to Europe?
I have heard India is very restrictive about collecting insects and thank you in advance for any knowledge about exporting insects out of India.

Not according to Indian law, so the answer is technically no.
Adam.

If the insect is not protected by CITES and manages to leave India, you will not have any problems in Europe. But the Indian guy trying to export the insect might end up in trouble in India if he is caught without the necessary permits.
