The ICZN has ruled to reject an application to suppress Papilio phoebus Fabricius, 1793 and use Papilio phoebus De Prunner, 1798 as the valid name for the taxon generally known as Parnassius phoebus.
This was an attempt to preserve prevailing usage of the name as a result of Hanus & Theye showing that Papilio phoebus Fabricius, 1793 is actually what everyone has called Parnassius ariadne.
As a result the ICZN has confirmed that the species previously known as Parnassius phoebus is correctly named Parnassius corybas, and Parnassius phoebus is the valid name for the species previously known as Parnassius ariadne.
International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature [March] 2017. Opinion 2382 (Case 3637) — Conservation of the accustomed usage of Papilio phoebus De Prunner, 1798 by suppression of Papilio phoebus Fabricius, 1793 not approved (Insecta, Lepidoptera, Papilionidae). The Bulletin of Zoological Nomenclature, 73(2-4):148-149.

See collector-secret.proboards.com/thread/3719/parnassius-phoebus-again for Opinion 2488 conserving the name Papilio phoebus Fabricius, 1793, so corybas reverts to a subspecies.
