Dear all,
this upcomming easter holiday I have made plans to travel to Xi,an in Shaanxi province China, and I was hoping some of you who may have traveled there or nearby could possibly provide tips on things such as: Are there any good locations for Luehdorfia? and what species could I expect to find? It may be a little too early for Luehdorfia.
All comments and information are welcomed! Thanks in advance,
Ed.

L. chinensis flies in late March-early April in Hunan, so Luehdorfia spp might be flying in Taibai Shan (further north) about now.
It is too early for B. thaidina now, that should be flying in May-June.

It need not be too early for Luehdorfia taibai. You can see some collecting dates from a Japanese collection here (named longicaudata), some are mid April. You may also find a Chinese article on the species here (opens in pdf). One can with ease use google translate to extract information from the article. Bhutanitis thaidina is also known from the same area, but I guess April is too early for that species? Jan I just remembered that I didn't comment on the above. The valid name for the long tailed Luehdorfia is longicaudata Lee, 1982 and taibai Chou, 1994 is a junior synonym. There were several papers arguing in favour of each name by 'factions' loyal to the respective authors, but despite arguments to the contrary longicaudata was validly described under ICZN Code regulations. I relized I forgot to give an update.
I spent a few days in the city of Xi,an but since the weather wasent favorable I held off from making the long travel to the mountai. On a few of my last days the weather was much more favorable so I visited near by areas to collect, no Luehdorfia though.
