I have been twice in Tenerife, in september 2002 and 2006, but not for butterflies, and I was attending at the "world parrot conventions" that is being held every 4 years at the Loro Parque Foundation in Puerto de la Cruz ! As you say Jan, temperature was quite pleasant and life quite inexpensive. We did some sight seing and went to Mount Teide and also went on Las Palmas Island. These are volcanic islands, and I prefer more tropical places ...
A+, Michel

Thanks Dave,
I have been in July/beg. Aug 2014 in El Hierro, La Gomera, La Palma and Tenerife, unfortunately the pass from Masca down to Las Portelas was closed due to road blocked after rain.
I am planning some time in the future a collecting trip for the Euchloe species... Always nice to have plans

I like Vanessa sp. they are simply beautiful. There is very similar looking species in northern Thailand-V.indica which I was happy to see last year near Chiang Mai .
