Hello!
I am primarily an artist, but am fascinated by insects of all kinds and have been for as long as I can remember. So I guess also a very amateur entomologist.
I have a website (nerdynicnacs.com) where you can see the art I make out of animal bones, insect parts, and other miscellaneous found and reused/upcycled items.
I love to learn and am endlessly curious, so when a friend was recently describing her symptoms of copper toxicity (yellow toenails, body hair stopped growing, hallucinating bodily sensations, mental illness, and...insects being unusually attracted to her- more than ever before in her life- noticeably more interested in sucking her blood and buzzing around her person) I had to find out what that was about. Of course, I asked her if she knew why that was, and she said she hadn't seen anything about it in her research on copper toxicity. I took to the internet and could find nothing. So here I am, becoming a part of an Entomology forum (something I should have done years ago anyhow).
Anyone know anything about Copper toxicity in humans attracting insects? Why in the heck would that be? The effect it has on body chemistry? That change in some way altering the person's "smell" and enticing bugs?
Would love to hear others' ideas!

I am sorry to hear about your friend, I think it would be most important to bring your friend to a trained medic and/or psychologist if this has not been done yet.
There is no bodily change that could increase insect bites.
