I netted a Jewel Beetle that was feeding on a native flower in the Blue mountains of New South Wales in Australia.
It is Stigmodera macularia a rather large beetle of about 25mm long.
It is mainly yellow with black spotted markings on the wing cases, underside is a shinning black.
If any beetle collector is interested in this bug, i would be interested in trading it for a nice butterfly as Lepidoptera is my thing.
I will try and upload a photo later.
Alan.
